Description
PA-33 Specifications

The PA-33 is our single channel control box with an increased environmental protection rating. Using the RF remote provided, users have the ability to extend, stop, and retract their actuators from up to 30-50 feet away (open air). The control box has both momentary and non-momentary capabilities as well as an in-line fuse to protect against short circuits.

Using the included wire harness, connect the linear actuator(s) to the control box. Apply 12VDC across the power wires and the system is now ready to use. It is important to ensure that the power supply has a sufficient amperage rating to control the linear actuators. The PA-33 is designed to handle a maximum of 20A.

Please see the PA-33 Data Sheet for information about controls, wiring, and troubleshooting. This unit is compatible with all of our linear actuators, however, for actuators with a higher than 12A current rating, modifying the wiring harness to a thicker gauge is recommended.

* For 12 VDC actuators with a higher than 12A current rating, using relays or modifying the wiring harness to a thicker gauge is recommended.

FAQ
What does the IP65 rating mean for the PA-33 and how does it improve the unit’s performance in outdoor or harsh environments?

The Ingress Protection (IP) rating system uses a 2-digit system where the first digit represents debris and/or dust protection, and the second represents protection against liquids. An IP65 level of protection makes the PA-33 suitable as an outdoor actuator controller with tight seals and enclosures that help extend service life.

When should I consider upgrading the wiring harness or using relays with the PA-33 control box?

For higher current draws over 12A, use high current relays or thick gauge wiring to avoid overheating the actuator wiring harness of the PA-33.

How does the PA-33 differ from the PA-31 in terms of durability and environmental resistance?

When comparing the PA-31 vs PA-33, the gasketed housing and sealed connectors of our PA-33 offer better resilience to dust and moisture commonly found in outdoor use cases.

How do I toggle between momentary and non-momentary modes with the PA-33 control box?

Changing between momentary and non-momentary actuator control box modes requires access inside the enclosure. Once you have access, follow the steps below:

Momentary Mode

  • Ensure the Jumper S1 on the PCB is connected
  • Hold UP to extend the actuator, let go to stop the actuator
  • Hold DOWN to retract the actuator, let go to stop the actuator

Non-Momentary Mode

  • Ensure the Jumpers S1 on the PCB is disconnected
  • Press UP to extend the actuator, Press UP again to stop the actuator
  • Press DOWN to retract the actuator, Press DOWN again to stop the actuator
  • If DOWN is pressed while the actuator is extending, it will reverse direction and begin to retract
What are the remote control capabilities and operational range of the PA-33 system?

The PA-33 features a wireless remote range of 30–50 ft in open air, paired with the RF actuator remote controller for wireless control over extension, retraction, and stopping motion.

So far so great

Works reliably so far. Has survived blistering heat in the desert. Remote works consistently in momentary mode.

Hi Dallas,

Thank you for your review on our product! We're thrilled to hear that it's working reliably, even in the challenging desert environment. Your satisfaction with its performance is fantastic to hear. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.

The patch cords worked as expected. Tight fitting connections and made it possible to extend the span of the legs to fit our needs. This whole product group is on the list for my next project.

These DO NOT fit over actuator. I called Progressive to ask how to put these on. I told them the only way to slide them over actuator is to remove sealed top. They agreed. And then they told me if I removed the top seal it will void the warranty. So I repeated what the person told me and asked if he that made sense.
He said no, I will talk to engineering and get back to you. Never heard from anybody from Progressive.
Still waiting........
